Which MIDI devices, digital pianos, or keyboards can I use?
Can I use a MIDI keyboard or digital piano?
Yes! SYNKii works best when using a MIDI/USB keyboard or digital piano.
You can connect ANY digital keyboard to your computer, as long as it has a MIDI or USB port!
There are two main types of MIDI & USB keyboards you could choose from. It all depends on your preferences.
Let's take a look at your options.
MIDI or USB Keyboards:
MIDI keyboards or USB keyboards that have built-in speakers. These keyboards allow you to play without being plugged into a computer.
- Example 1: Portable Piano (Donner DEP-20)
- Example 2: Digital Piano (Yamaha YDP 144)
MIDI or USB Controllers:
MIDI controllers or USB controllers that do not have speakers and require a computer connection to work. These controllers are generally less expensive and compact than MIDI & USB keyboards. However, they can't make any sound without plugging them into a computer first.
- Example: MIDI Controller (M-Audio 88 MK3)
